Ennui and illness kept me from posting this week; however, a rearview mirror in the parking lot inspired me to look heavenward to catch up on images.

The World War II Veterans Honor Flight departs from Abilene. Daddy is joining 238 other veterans from West Texas for a flight to Washington DC to visit the World War II Memorial and other sites. A motorcycle honor guard of Viet Nam vets escorted the 10 tour buses to the Abilene Civic Center where a flag-waving crowd greeted the vets as they entered for dinner.

Today we visited the foundry at St. Eligius Studio at 2202 East Broadway and run by artist/sculptor Steve Teeters. Our objective was to view a bronze bound for the Lubbock cemetery. While there I found this miniature boot sculpture with its accompanying wax mold. Hart to believe it's only five inches tall!
happy birthday, stevie
